Latest Transfer Updates: Manchester City’s Failed Move for Paqueta, Potential Deals for Doku and Bonucci

Manchester City gives up for Paqueta…

According to Sky Sports, Lucas Paqueta will not go to Manchester City. Yet a deal worth around €94m was agreed last week before West Ham were told on Wednesday the player was under investigation by the FA for a sports betting history. Paqueta still has four years of contract with West Ham.

Our opinion: Such a case could hardly suggest any other outcome.

… and waits for Doku for his medical visit

According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Manchester City has planned the first part of the medical visit for Jérémy Doku this Wednesday. The deal is concluded with Rennes around 60 million euros.

Our opinion: A transfer that will mark the spirits.

Inter will drop 30 million for Pavard…

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the agreement between Inter Milan and Bayern Munich for the transfer of Benjamin Pavard is around 30 million euros excluding bonuses. The last obstacle to the arrival of the 2018 world champion remains the desire of the Bavarians to find him a replacement. But Pavard has never been so close to a start.

Our opinion: An arrival that looks like a good deal for the Italian club.

… and could send Correa to Sevilla… to get Sanchez back

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter Milan are in contact with Sevilla over the possible transfer of Joaquin Correa, who no longer has the confidence of Simone Inzaghi. If he were to leave, the 29-year-old striker would free up a place for Alexis Sanchez, who would like to return to the Lombard club. At Inter Milan, the former Marseillais could receive 3 million euros per year.

Our opinion: The interist transfer window therefore seems far from over.

Lazio does not let go of Lloris

Lazio Rome have reopened negotiations with Hugo Lloris according to information from Sky Sports Italy. While the case was tied up, Lloris reconsidered his decision because he failed to speak with Maurizio Sarri. Not feeling wanted, the former captain of the Blues preferred to stop the negotiations. Will Lazio be able to get him to reverse his decision?

Our opinion: It’s hard to imagine a favorable outcome to this case, with a goalkeeper who wants to play.

OL set their price for Tagliafico…

According to Telegraaf, Olympique Lyonnais would ask around ten million euros to agree to let their Argentinian international left-back Nicolas Tagliafico go. The player would be willing to return to Ajax Amsterdam, the club he left just a year ago.

Our opinion: Losing such a player would be terrible for a club that has been struggling since the start of the season.

… and let Toko-Ekambi slip away to Saudi Arabia

According to RMC Sport, Karl Toko-Ekambi will definitely leave Olympique Lyonnais. Loaned to Rennes during the second part of the 2022-23 season, the former Sochalien would have signed with the Saudi club Abha. OL should recover some two million euros (bonus included) in this operation.

Our opinion: Surely the best decision for the player, if he wishes to have a consistent playing time.

West Ham vise Ekitike

According to L’Equipe, Paris may have found a base for Hugo Ekitike, from whom he is absolutely seeking to separate before September 1. PSG are looking to include him in Randal Kolo Muani’s transfer and Eintracht Frankfurt have shown interest in him. Recently, West Ham came to collect information about the former Reims striker. The English club could offer a loan with option to buy 35 million euros.

Our opinion: This is probably a case that should fuel the end of this summer transfer window.

Galatasaray suit Ndombele

Galatasaray is looking for a midfielder. Interested in Mattéo Guendouzi, the Turks are also watching Tanguy Ndombele with a keen eye, according to RMC. Tottenham does not want to retain the French international at all costs and is demanding between 15 and 20 million euros to release him.

Our opinion: Certainly the ideal place for this player to breathe new life into his career.

Besiktas arrives Ramos

While he was about to bounce back in Turkey, Sergio Ramos will never put on the Besiktas jersey. The Turkish club communicated: “Sergio Ramos has been contacted and the negotiations, which were carried out in the best interest of our club, have been interrupted due to disagreements over financial matters.” After the Mexican club America and Sevilla FC, it is the third team to fail the former PSG defender this summer.

Our opinion: A player who will certainly have to lower his salary requirements if he does not want to find himself without a club at the end of this transfer window.

Cancelo at Barça this week?

Under contract with Manchester City until June 2027, Joao Cancelo could experience a new loan (note: he played for Bayern Munich from January to June 2023). The Portuguese international right-back could leave for Barca this week, Mundo Deportivo reveal. The Spanish daily specifies that this arrival would be possible thanks to the departure of Sergino Dest from PSV Eindhoven. Thus, FC Barcelona could welcome him on loan with a purchase option set at 30 million euros.

Our opinion: A player who could very well earn his place in the Blaugrana starting XI.

Monaco continues to discuss for Balogun

According to Sky Sports, Monaco and Arsenal have continued their talks over striker Folarin Balogun. The center-forward was on loan last season at Reims and scored 21 league goals in 34 starts.

Our opinion: Monaco would achieve a very nice coup, if these discussions succeed.

Heading to Union Berlin for Bonucci?

According to Relevo, Union Berlin will do everything to attract Leonardo Bonucci within the next two days. The 36-year-old Italian international currently wears the colors of the Juventus Turin club since 2018.

Our opinion: Certainly a last challenge for the player, who could even play in the Champions League this year if he joins this club.
