La Mattonata won the second edition of the Games without Frontiers reserved for districts and pro loco, at the culmination of a memorable Saturday lived at the municipal stadium, amidst fun, a pinch of competition and lots of joy. Fifteen teams and 225 athletes from all over the Città di Castello area competed until late at night. About a thousand spectators who took turns in the stands over the more than seven hours of the event. The representatives of the districts and hamlets of the city exalted the public of fans -among the gags of the mascot Rosalino- in diving on carpets with soapy water, in racing at breakneck speed or in competitions of skill, up to the test of strength in the tug of war and in the unbridled final duel of the donut. In the end, the team from the Mattonata district won, who with 89 points preceded the bearers of the Madonna del Latte district by three lengths, second on the final podium ahead of the pro loco of Santa Lucia and Titta, who finished the series of games with a dead heat with 83 points. The jury of the event, chaired by Giulia Rossi (Tuscany) and composed of Nicola Carli (Trentino Alto Adige), Angela Odorino (Puglia), Liliana Carrieri (Puglia), Fabio Terradura (Umbria) and Luciano Vanni (Umbria), has officially proclaimed the winners on the sidelines of a day that also brought its contribution to solidarity. Through free donations, purchases of official t-shirts, drinks at the bar, funds have been raised which will go to support the awareness-raising activity of the “In & Aut – Tiferno Autismo” association and in part to the Pierantonio pro loco as an aid to populations affected by the earthquake. “We are really satisfied and happy to have made an entire city play and have fun together, in an appointment that has already entered everyone’s heart and that we are already thinking of re-proposing in an even more engaging and fun way next year”. say the organizers (Amici di Feffo association together with local companies). “A wonderful show by local residents, add the councilors Riccardo Carletti and Benedetta Calagreti “for an event that has been able to involve the whole territory and achieve important charitable objectives”.
