Keio and Okinawa Shogaku Advance to Quarterfinals in National High School Baseball Championship

Okinawa Shogaku/Higaonna = Koshien who started the match against Soseikan

On the 10th day of the National High School Baseball Championship, four games in the third round were held at Koshien Stadium on the 16th, and Keio (Kanagawa) won and advanced to the quarterfinals for the first time in 15 years. Okinawa Shogaku entered the top eight for the first time in nine years, and Hachinohe Gakuin Kosei (Aomori) entered the top eight for the first time in four years. Tsuchiura Nihon University (Ibaraki) is in the top 8 for the first time throughout the spring and summer.

Keio scored 3 points in the 10th inning of the tiebreaker with 2 points in a timely manner, and won 6-3 against Koryo (Hiroshima), who was in the top 4 of this spring’s selection tournament. Okinawa Shogaku defeated Soseikan (Nagasaki) 5-1, and Hachinohe Gakuin Kosei defeated Bunsei University (Tochigi) 6-3. Tsuchiura Nihon University came from behind to beat Sendai Matsudo (Chiba) 10-6.

The 1st and 2nd matches of the quarterfinals on the 19th are Okinawa Shogaku vs. Keio, and Tsuchiura Nihon University vs. Hachinohe Gakuin Kousei.
