[배드민턴코리아] Park Jun-hyung and Lee Min-wook (Jeju Sadaebu High School) enjoyed the gold medal in the high school men’s doubles at the ‘2023 National School Badminton Championships (Middle School)’ held at the Hanium Cultural Sports Center in Hwasun-gun, Jeollanam-do.
On August 12, in the men’s doubles final of the high school division, Park Jun-hyung and Lee Min-wook defeated Lee Seon-jin and Lee Hyeong-woo (Gwangmyeongbuk High School) 2-0 (21-16 22-20) and rose to the top.
At the beginning of the first game, Park Jun-hyung and Lee Min-wook led 11-6, and in the second half, Lee Seon-jin and Lee Hyeong-woo allowed a turnaround with 12-13. However, Park Jun-hyung and Lee Min-wook scored 3 points in a row and went head-to-head, winning 21-16.
In the second half of the second game, Park Jun-hyung and Lee Min-wook were trailing 16-20. Sensing a crisis, Park Jun-hyung and Lee Min-wook launched an onslaught and tied Lee Seon-jin and Lee Hyung-woo at 20-20. In the end, Lee Seon-jin and Lee Hyeong-woo made a mistake, and Park Jun-hyung and Lee Min-wook achieved 22 points first, making a come-from-behind victory.
In the high school women’s doubles final, Moon In-seo and Han Seung-yeon (Jeonju Seongsim Girls’ High School) held the championship trophy. Moon In-seo and Han Seung-yeon ended the tournament with a 2-0 (21-8 21-14) victory over Kim Mi-joo and Yeon Seo-yeon (Hwasun High School).
