The Asd AIDA, a Calabrian archery company engaged in grassroots and high-level sports, in addition to having opened its doors to other sports, has worked hard with seriousness and conviction to achieve a very important goal: the inauguration of its new sports facility in Cinquefrondi (RC).
In the vicinity of the Cinquefrondi Municipal Stadium, on Friday 11 August 2023, at 18:30, the official inauguration of a modern and functional archery facility will be held, a true flagship for this sport in Southern Italy.
In the presence of the highest civil, military and religious regional authorities, CONI, CIP and of course FITARCO, Asd AIDA will inaugurate a facility that includes an indoor competition field and an outdoor competition field.
The new home of the Calabrian club, in addition to being able to host competitions, will be used daily by members as a training venue and will be the new logistical base for the preparation of the Paralympic champion Enza Petrilli who, precisely with Asd AIDA, has grown competitively up to winning silver at the Tokyo Paralympic Games and three world titles in the Dubai 2022 world championship.
The blue archer, who currently wears the jersey of the State Police Sports Group – Fiamme Oro as her primary company, will also be the “hostess” on the day of the inauguration, precisely to demonstrate to all those present how important it is for a archer to be able to take advantage of a training place suitable for the expectations of his own competitive growth.
SUSTAINABLE AND BARRIER-FREE FACILITY – AIDA, which has always been at the side of people with disabilities, designed and built the facility precisely so that it was 100% usable by disabled athletes, designed to break down all architectural barriers and allow Paralympic archers to use it in its entirety.
Inside the structure, mainly used for archery, there is also space for Paralympic table football and Paralympic table tennis which can also be used by able-bodied people thus creating that solidarity bridge between “normo and para” it is the basis of the sporting sentiment also promoted by FITARCO.
The plant was built through its own contributions obtained by Asd AIDA through the participation over the years in various tenders, contributions disbursed by the Calabria Region and above all the contribution received from FITARCO following the tender on plant engineering announced by the Federation of the year 2021 (II Semester). These funds have been used precisely to make the structure totally usable for people with physical disabilities.
The Calabrian company has already arranged for participation in the new tender of the Italian Archery Federation which dedicates additional funds to plant engineering for the year 2023, with the aim of making the entire structure self-sustainable: from water collection rainwater for various uses, the installation of photovoltaic panels, up to solar thermal.
INDOOR FIELD – The supporting structure was built with steel sections measuring 13.00×30.00m with a maximum height of 4.50m. The internal space will give the Company the possibility to place up to 9 paglioni. Environments present: competition field, men’s toilets, disabled/women’s toilets, warehouse and office. The field has already been authorized and tested and for the inauguration day, 11 August 2023, the usability certification will also be filed.
OUTDOOR COURT – Width 15m and maximum length 60m (the field for safety reasons will be approved up to 25m), in order to be able to play youth competitions and 25+18m outdoors. The structure has a lighting system that will allow night races to be held.
