SANTO DOMINGO. – The Los Frailes Sports and Cultural Club inaugurated its 15th Los Frailes 2023 Superior Basketball Tournament last weekend dedicated to the mayor of Santo Domingo Este, Manuel Jiménez, where the mayor was honored.
In that same order, the outstanding young friar from Friar, artistic and political promoter Yofer José Rodríguez Cáceres (Yofito Records) was recognized for his great and important contributions to the sports and cultural development of the sector, among other important causes in which he has always been present. .
The kick-off was in charge of Vielka Peralta, one of the most important women of the Dominican Volleyball team, who are known as “The Queens of the Caribbean.”
The sectors Los Frailes 1st, Los Frailes 2nd, Barrio Nuevo, Mirador Las Américas, María Del Mar, Los Molinos, San Bartolo, La Ureña, Ciudad Juan Bosh, Villa Faro, La Caleta, Boca Chica, El Arismar, among other teams that make up the coastal neighborhoods belonging to the busy Las Américas highway.
The president of the club, José Díaz (Guachimon), who is a living legend in sports as a long-standing coach, contributing to the fact that youth does not stop playing sports in different branches such as basketball and volleyball, said that without youth there is no future, without the recreation the tournaments there is no pride for the sectors, he thanked for the support that year after year they give him with each one of the tournaments that he organizes.
The organization was essential for the realization of the tournament, having an important collaboration of the residents of each neighborhood, as well as the development of the teams that are competing in it, demonstrating the level of discipline and commitment for an event to take place. where order reigns
