When summer comes, it’s time for great refreshments. The municipality of Vence takes advantage of the school holidays to carry out work in certain municipal buildings, and in particular at the Dandréis gymnasium. This summer business concerns the re-sealing of the skylights as well as the smoke extraction hatches.
Patching up past neglect
A decade earlier, the City had embarked on major work on the roof of the building. During occasional rainy episodes shortly after their completion, several traces of infiltration were observed. At the time, after formal notice was given to the companies concerned, the expert appraisals led to the current revision of the waterproofing infrastructure.
Preserve summer activity at the same time
The site is now subject to the “very attentive monitoring of technical services” assures the municipality. Within this gymnasium of 760m2 of practicable surface, all the precautions are taken in order to avoid the least deterioration of the parquet floor. This is protected by plywood boards, removed from 7 p.m., to allow basketball players, volleyball players or even handball players to practice their sporting activity.
