France U16 women’s team – For their first meeting at the EuroBasket U16 women, the Bleuettes did not miss anything and won against Serbia (62-49) this Friday evening. They will face Turkey this Saturday at 6:00 p.m.
Defending champions, the Bleuettes honored their status by making a perfect entry into the women’s EuroBasket U16. Opposed to Serbia, the players of Arnaud Guppillotte won 62 to 49.
From the first minutes, the tricolors put the right ingredients to take control of the game at the end of the first quarter (21-17, 10 ‘). Les Bleuettes then moved up a gear and beat the Serbs 6-0 and managed to create a first break (27-17, 12’). Finally, their evening opponent did not let it go and made his comeback in the game and were only 4 small points behind at the break (33-29, 20 ‘). On returning from the locker room, the French raced in the lead but did not manage to take the upper hand before starting the final act (46-43, 30’). A 16-6 in the last act finally allowed the Bleuettes, led by Ainhoa Risacher (15 points) to break away and secure a first important victory before facing the host country this Saturday at 6:00 p.m.
