The Colombian Jorge Iván Palacio, president of the Disciplinary Commission of the FIFAhas agreed this Saturday the “suspension provisional” of Luis Rubiales “of all football-related activities at the national and international level”. The RFEF president decided not to resign after the controversy over his kiss to Jenni Hermoso, who denied that it was consented to.
“This suspension, which will be effective from today, extends for an initial period of 90 daysand as long as the disciplinary procedure opened by this Disciplinary Commission against Mr. Luis Rubiales on Thursday, August 24, is processed,” the highest body in world football said in a statement.
Forbidden to contact Jenni Hermoso
FIFA points out that the provisional suspension is added to the prohibition that he or his direct contacts try to talk to Jenni Hermoso to try to reach a possible agreement.
The decision to prohibit Rubiales from contacting the Madrid forward is, according to FIFA, to “preserve, among other factors, the fundamental rights of the player of the national soccer team and the good order of the disciplinary procedure that is in process before this disciplinary body”.
The organization emphasizes that the decision has been communicated to Rubiales, the RFEF and UEFA for “due compliance”. In addition, it reiterates “its absolute commitment to the respect for integrity of all people”. Therefore, “it condemns with the greatest vigor all conduct to the contrary”.
