FC Bayern Munich Closing in on Deal with Daniel Peretz as New Goalkeeper

Is there now a very quick solution in the complex search for a new goalkeeper for FC Bayern Munich?

According to SPORT1 information, the commitment of the young keeper Daniel Peretz from Maccabi Tel Aviv is taking shape: Munich is about to reach an agreement with the 23-year-old, who is now the dream solution for the record champions’ bosses. Completion could be reported as early as this week.

The Italian transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio and the Bild newspaper had previously reported on an offer to Maccabi. It should be 4.5 million euros.

Manchester City’s Stefan Ortega and clubless David de Gea are now unlikely options.

Peretz could fit into the new requirement profile that Bayern are now apparently pursuing in the T-question. Because well-known players such as Kepa Arrizabalaga (joined Real Madrid) and Gerónimo Rulli (injured) were not available, a man is now being sought for the position behind Sven Ulreich. This should initially be between the posts until the injured Manuel Neuer returns.

Neuer made progress again recently and also trained on the pitch. This development has also led to a rethink among the bosses. He might even return in the coming weeks.

“The intervention on Manuel Neuer works. His development is very positive. I’m not a rehab expert, but what I’ve seen in training so far was very impressive, very positive,” confirmed coach Thomas Tuchel at the press conference on Thursday: “Of course that has an impact on our planning. We want to give Manuel time and peace to get back in goal.”

In addition, Tuchel explained: “We want to be competitive at a high level.” This is the case with Ulreich, “but we can’t guarantee that with Ulle alone, so we’re trying to sign a goalkeeper”.
