Dyn boss Christian Seifert on the start and plans of the sports streaming broadcaster

Christian Seifert is known for his successful work as managing director of the German Football League (DFL). At the end of 2021 he left the DFL after 17 years. In 2022, the former board member of KarstadtQuelle New Media AG founded the start-up company Dyn Media, among other things. The Axel Springer Group holds a majority interest in this. Seifert, born in Rastatt in 1969, wants to use the streaming platform to draw more attention to the sports of handball, basketball, hockey, volleyball and table tennis. The honorary chairman of the supervisory board of the German Sports Aid Foundation is convinced that the economic potential of these sports is far from exhausted. Dyn, that’s how “Yours” should be pronounced, has acquired extensive media rights. The program begins on Wednesday (7 p.m.) with the Handball Super Cup between THW Kiel and the Rhein-Neckar-Löwen.

You have long worked successfully in Germany’s favorite sport, soccer, and now you want to help handball, basketball, hockey, volleyball and table tennis, which are comparatively fringe sports, to flourish. Why?
