Dornbirn Indians Set to Face Wr. Neustadt Diving Ducks in Semifinals

Dornbirn’s baseball team will meet the Diving Ducks in the semifinals next weekend.

Dornbirn. After a win each for the Dornbirn Indians and the Wr. Neustadt Diving Ducks will play the semi-final series next weekend on Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th August in Wr. Neustadt continued.

Last weekend, the Indians were able to secure the win in the first game, but not everything went according to plan in the second game. After pitcher Lochland Southee was injured again after just one pitch (he will not be available again this season), Japan’s Shotaro Usui came on earlier than planned. Due to this unforeseeable situation, Usui couldn’t get into rhythm and the Lower Austrians took advantage of this coldly for eight early runs and for the preliminary decision. “The series starts all over again and whoever manages to win two games first will meet the winner of the other semi-final series between the Vienna Wanderers and Vienna Metrostars in the final,” says Wolfgang Pschorr manager at the Dornbirn Indians.

In the third game of the series, Ryan Rupp will again pitch for the Indians on the mound, but who will start as a pitcher for the Indians in the second game is still open. In addition to Usui, coach Graeham Luttor also has Kruno Gojkovic and Jochen Pfister. If the Indians’ offense and defense perform as they did in the first two games and the pitchers can call up their potential, the chances of two wins and the associated participation in the final are good.
