The Al Joumhouri party has denounced abuses in the treatment of detainees in the so-called conspiracy against state security case, in particular the conditions of their transport, while affirming that Issam Chebbi injured his back by falling in the vehicle that transported him from the prison to the Anti-Terrorist Pole.
In his press release Al-Jomhouri indicated that Issam Chebbi suffers from a serious back injury and pointed the finger at the responsibility of the president of the republic Kaïs Saïed, while recalling his right to resort to justice.
Al-Joumhouri recalled having warned several times about the dangers of vehicles used by the prison administration and also called for “the release of the detainees in the said case in the absence of incriminating evidence”, while callingthe living forces of the country to mobilize to bring down the regime in place».
For its part, the General Directorate of Prisons and Rehabilitation, via its spokesperson Ramzi Kouki denied the facts by indicating “that the rumor that the general secretary of the Al-Jomhouri party fell into the vehicle transporting the detainees is totally wrong.”
Ramzi Kouki added that the six detainees were transferred to the headquarters of the Judicial Center for the Fight against Terrorism in three vehicles intended for the transport of prisoners, “including one with 4 separate seats and two other ordinary vehicles”.
Recall that upon his arrival at the Judicial Center, Issam Chebbi complained of back pain and was taken to hospital before being taken back to Mornbaguia prison via an ambulance.
