Dornbirn Indians Experience Victory and Defeat in Semi-Final Series

Victory and defeat for the Dornbirn Indians in the semi-final series.

Dornbirn. After the winner of the regular season made a false start the day before, the Diving Ducks hit back against the Dornbirn Indians less than 24 hours later. Before that, on Saturday morning, the Dornbirn Indians had to face regular season champions Diving Ducks Wr. Neustadt with 5: 3 on the sports facility in Rohrbach. For the Indians it was the second win in the fifth game of the season. The hosts had the first run in the first inning before the Diving Ducks scored twice in the second inning. In the third inning, however, last year’s finalist gave the perfect answer again, pulling away with three runs to 4:2. After a fifth inning without a point, the guests were able to reduce the lead to 3:4 in the fourth inning. Marcel Theiner provided the last run in the semi-final opening game with a single home run in the sixth inning. In the seventh inning, the Indians’ strong starting pitcher Ryan Rupp handed the ball to Michael Jäger.

The day after, the second game in the Rohrbach was scheduled. Especially in the second inning, the offensive of the Lower Austrians could not be stopped by the Indians pitchers Shotaro Usui and Kruno Gojovic and so the guests finally secured the series equalizer with a 18:4 win.

After the two games in Dornbirn, there are now up to three clashes in Wr. Neustadt on the program. The team that wins two of these players first is in the finals of the Baseball Bundesliga. (cth)
