Dinamo Zagreb and Ajax have reached an agreement on the transfer of Josip Sutalo to the Amsterdam club, Johan Inan of the club reports. General Journal Wednesday afternoon. Ajax would have made an ultimate offer for the defender, which now seems to have been accepted by the Croatian club.
Earlier on Wednesday, the news came out that Ajax had made a last, ultimate attempt to loosen Sutalo from his club. Ajax is said to have offered an amount of twenty million euros excluding two million euros in bonuses. Dinamo Zagreb agreed on Wednesday with the total amount of 22 million euros.
‘Dinamo Zagreb wants Sutalo to participate in diptych with AEK Athens’
The newspaper writes that it is still unclear when Sutalo will travel to Amsterdam to complete his transfer. Previously, Dinamo Zagbreb kept its leg stiff in the negotiations, because the club is fighting for a ticket for the main tournament of the Champions League. Dinamo Zagreb will compete against AEK Athens in the third preliminary round of the billion dollar ball. The return match will be played in Zagreb on August 15, but due to disturbances between the two groups of supporters, the first leg was cancelled. It is not yet known when the match in Athens will be played. According to Football International the Croatian club requires Sutalo to still play during the diptych. After this, a five-year contract is ready in the Dutch capital.
Both director of football affairs Sven Mislintat and head coach Maurice Steijn made it clear that they wanted to add Sutalo to the selection. After the match against Borussia Dortmund on Saturday, Steijn said that Sutalo himself also wants to make the move to Amsterdam: ‘The player wants to go to Ajax’, was the short reaction of the Hagenaar.

The negotiations for Josip Sutalo are approaching the absolute final phase, Fabrizio Romano reports via Twitter. Dinamo Zagreb already had an outline agreement with Ajax and now they are very close to finalizing the final details. The last creases are also ironed out in the negotiations with the center defender. A final agreement is expected soon.

Ajax and Josip Sutalo have fully agreed on a transfer. This is reported by Florian Plettenberg of the German Sky Sports. His current employer Dinamo Zagreb is expected to agree with Ajax after the Champions League diptych with AEK Athens. The transfer amount is 25 million euros with some bonuses, of which it is not known how high these bonuses are. Sutalo will sign a contract through 2028.
