Compound Finals Dominate Penultimate Day of Archery World Cup 2023 in Paris

Penultimate day of the stage of Archery World Cup 2023 in Paris (France). A Saturday entirely dedicated to the compound finals for both men and women, with no Italians present.

The morning was reserved for the finals of the team tournaments: in the compound women triumphed India (Kaur, Swami, Vennnam) who beat Mexico (Becerra, Quintero, Hernandez Jeon) 234-233 in the final. India (Deotale, Jawkar, Verma) which was also repeated in the masculine, defeating the United States (Lutz, Schaff, Sullivan) 236-232. In the mixed to win was the United States (Ruiz, Schaff) for 158-156 on Puerto Rico (Ramirez Gonzalez, Pizarro). Bronze to Holland who beat Denmark in the shoot-off.

In the afternoon the semi-finals and finals of the two individual tournaments were staged: in the women’s category victory for the British Ella Gibson who beat the Danish Tanja Gellenthien (145-145) in a shoot-off in a very balanced match. The bronze was also decided in the shoot-off and goes to the Indian Jyothi Surekha Vennami on the Colombian Sara Lopez (146-146). In the men bronze prerogative of the Puerto Rican Jean Pizarro, executioner of the Austrian Stefan Heincz for 147-143. Gold goes to the Slovak Jozef Bosansky who beats the Mexican Miguel Becerra 148-146 in the final.
