Coach Kees van Wonderen Impresses with SC Heerenveen’s Offensive Start to the Eredivisie Season

SC Heerenveen started the Eredivisie season with a 3-1 home win over RKC Waalwijk. Coach Kees van Wonderen ended last year with the Frisians in eighth place and thus reached the play-offs. Football journalist Wouter Boerkamp is very impressed by the former coach of Go Ahead Eagles.

“Whatever selection he gets at his disposal.. he normally closes it completely, except at SC Heerenveen,” says Boerkamp at FC Rehab. Colleague Mart ten Have joins in: “Heerenveen just plays quite offensively these days.” Boerkamp: “I think he has brought so much football into the team that SC Heerenveen already has enough to play for the play-offs.”

Ten Have continues: “He is able to organize a team tactically and physically in such a way that he can achieve results purely on that basis. In this way he can also organize it well in terms of positional play. That is really very special. Successor of Arne Slot at Feyenoord,” concludes Ten Have.
