As expected, the two former world number ones Caroline Wozniacki and Venus Williams received wildcards for the US Open in New York. This was announced by the organizers of the last Grand Slam tournament of the year on Wednesday.

Remarkable: The 43-year-old Williams is in the main draw of the US Open for the 24th time this year. In 2000 and 2001 she won the title at Flushing Meadows. For comebacker Wozniacki, the first Grand Slam appearance since the Australian Open 2020 is on the program in New York.
