Canada has suffered a new low. Cory Joseph will also miss the World Cup due to a back problem, according to the journalist from SportsnetMichael Grange.

The point guard joins Oshae Brissett in the absences for the Americans, as the Indiana Pacers forward resigned to recover from a knee problem. Denver Nuggets star Jamal Murray is also in doubt after spending a long season in the NBA.

According to Grange, the guard suffered the injury during the training camp Canadian and, in a joint decision with the management of the team, opted not to participate in the event that will be held in Japan, the Philippines and Indonesia from August 25.

It is the second consecutive World Cup in which Joseph is out after reporting to training. For China 2019 he resigned after signing a contract with the Sacramento Kings. Now, with a new cycle to begin with the Golden State Warriors in their thirteenth season, he prefers to be cautious and thus be ready for 2023-2024.
