Mohammad Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan encountered no significant difficulties in qualifying for the last 16 of the 2023 BWF World Championship. The Daddies won two games over the Italian doubles.
Mohammad Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan faced Italian doubles Giovanni Greco/David Salutt in the round of 32 match at the Royal Arena, Copenhagen, Wednesday (23/8/2023) evening WIB. The veteran pair won 21-12, 21-14 in 22 minutes.
The Daddies appeared dominant from the first game. After winning 6-2, they did not allow their opponents to get closer and opened up 11-4 at the interval.
The advantage was maintained, until closing the first game with a landslide 21-12. The situation is quite different in the second game.
Greco/Salutt tried to put up a tighter fight and stuck to the points 7-7. Ahsan/Hendra pulled away 11-8 at half-time and widened it to 14-9.
Greco/Salutt had reduced the difference to two points at 12-14. But Ahsan/Hendra calmly secured a ticket to the round of 16 with a 21-14 victory.
Through to the round of 16, Ahsan/Hendra are still waiting for their opponents. The eighth seeded men’s doubles will face the winner of the duel He Ji Ting/Zhou Hao Dong vs Ondrej Kral/Adam Mendrek.
