In Alianza Lima, new airs are breathed. The arrival of the Uruguayan Mauricio Larriera to the bench of La Victoria would not be the only novelty in the blue and white store, which is aiming for a major redesign of its entire sports area. The man chosen by the board of directors is the Argentine Néstor Bonillo, faithful companion of his compatriot Ricardo Gareca and connoisseur of the idiosyncrasy of Peruvian football after his successful stint with the Peruvian team alongside ‘Tigre’ (he was their physical trainer during the nine years of work in the Videna de San Luis), who will assume the position of sports advisor in Matute.

The choice of Bonillo responds to different reasons: he is a highly trained professional and knowledgeable about our football, but the main reason is his experience in sports planning, which will mean important support for Larriera in his time at the blue and white institution. From the club, they want to give all the tools available to the Uruguayan DT and Bonillo, from his position, will play a key role in that task, because he will be linked to the sports area.

Alianza Lima’s new sports advisor knows the weaknesses and strengths of Peruvian soccer, and will articulate everything related to applied sciences; that is to say, the motor, physical, mental system and the measurement of the performance of the players. The objective is to get the most out of it from day one, and to empower the team according to the directives that Bonillo himself gives in his position.

On the other hand, Depor was able to learn that the contract between Bonillo and Alianza Lima would be preliminary for six months and, to carry out his role, he will have constant communication with José Bellina, who works as the club’s sports manager. The intention is to increasingly reduce the margin of error in the signings made for the formation of the main squad.
