With the approach of the World Cup which will take place in France (opening match on September 8), Odoxa carried out a survey to collect the opinion of the French people concerning rugby. Back to the main lessons.

As France prepares to host the Rugby World Cup, are the French really excited about it? This is a question that we are entitled to ask ourselves in this final stretch. And for 84% of French people, rugby enjoys a good image, a sport that is both “friendly” and which strengthens the “collective”. And concerning the World Cup, whose opening match between the Blues and the All Blacks will take place at the Stade de France? Here again, the survey shows real interest with 58% of respondents who intend to follow it. It is still 19 points more than the last rugby world cup which took place in Japan, and even 12 more than the football world cup in Qatar. The followers are also particularly optimistic: 60% of them believe that France will win.

Finally, the use of social networks has become a real means of experiencing emotions. Almost half of French people (48%) who will follow the World Cup will use social networks during the competition to share and discuss the competition. And even 80% of 15-24 year olds. So with the French behind them, all that’s missing is our Blues to convert the try!
