Young woman who killed her cat is diagnosed with schizophrenia; She was admitted to the psychiatric hospital-El Sol de México

Authorities from the Aguascalientes Public Security Secretariat reported that the 15-year-old teenager, who cruelly killed her pet, has already been detained for psychiatric care after being diagnosed with schizophrenia.

Manuel Alonso García, head of the SSPE, explained that the young woman has the possibility that, given her mental health conditions, she could be declared not guilty, that is, that she is not subjected to any trial despite what happened.

He added that other antecedents committed by the young woman towards other animals have even been identified, for which she has already been channeled to the neuropsychiatric ward where she will receive professional medical attention.

“There is a complaint before the State Prosecutor’s Office on behalf of PROESPA and we, in coordination with the DIF and SIPINA, channeled it to the Ministry of Health and treatment began with the agreement mainly of the mother,” he said.

On the other hand, regarding the acts of vandalism carried out by hooded persons who threw Molotov cocktails at the adolescent’s home, Alonso García pointed out that the alleged perpetrators have already been identified.

These are members of environmental movements who seek to take justice into their own hands, however, the minor’s family has limited itself to proceeding legally.

Finally, the Secretary of Health in Aguascalientes, Rubén Galaviz Tristán, indicated that unfortunately they had no history that the young woman involved in the death of her pet suffered from schizophrenia, for which reason it had not been possible to intervene in a timely manner.

“The limit between normal and pathological is very complicated, sometimes it is very difficult to define. Sometimes it is believed that there is a situation within normality, but already such aggressive behaviors tell us that there is something that must be addressed with help medical professional”.

Unfortunately, this is the second case of a person with schizophrenia who commits violent acts, after earlier this week a woman with said condition stabbed her own mother, an elderly man, multiple times.
