Dutchman Max Verstappen took his fifth consecutive pole position at the British Grand Prix on Saturday, with local McLaren hero Lando Norris joining the ‘big circus’ intra-table leader on the front row.

Additionally, McLaren’s Australian rookie Oscar Piastri was third fastest, with Ferrari’s Monegasque Charles Leclerc completing the second row.

Verstappen’s teammate and closest rival, to say the least, in the title fight, Sergio Pérez, could only finish 16th and it is already the fifth consecutive race in which the Mexican has failed to reach the top 10.

It was not exactly the best day at the famous English track for the Spaniards, since Carls Sainz finished fifth despite the improvement experienced by the Ferrari single-seaters and Fernando Alonso will start ninth this Sunday.
