Transfer market: Auxerre interested in former Parisian Bandiougou Fadiga

In January 2022, Bandiougou Fadiga left Paris Saint-Germain to join Olympiakos, an experience far from his comfort zone which should allow him to accelerate his progress. Appeared only seven times with the Pyrée club (1 goal), the former resident of the Camp des Loges left six months later on loan to Ionikos Nikaia, where he stood out last season (28 games, 1 goal) despite the lackluster results of his team (12th out of 14 in the championship, editor’s note). His good performances did not go unnoticed.

Several teams have positioned themselves to take the pulse of the situation. The Paris native is still under contract with Olympiakos until 2026 and according to our information AJ Auxerre has identified him as a potential signing for this summer.

Relegated to the second division, the Burgundian club has started initial discussions with the Greek club to find out the feasibility of a loan, to which AJA would like to add a non-compulsory purchase option. The 22-year-old player whom Thomas Tuchel launched into the deep end during the 2020-2021 season would be inclined to return to France. It remains to find common ground.
