Tournaisienne Loïs Petit Crowned Vice-World Champion in Judo at Military Worlds in the Dominican Republic

The Tournaisienne was in the Dominican Republic on the occasion of the Military Worlds. In the Caribbean she distinguished herself particularly well by being crowned vice-world champion in less than 48kg.

Deprived of the Senior Worlds in Doha, Qatar due to an ankle injury, Loïs Petit has digested her disappointment well. The former junior European champion was in a pool with 3 other judokas. After her first two fights, she was already guaranteed to come back with a medal. She then lost in the final with the golden score against a French judoka. “At the time I was a little disappointed but I’m also quite proud” she explains to our colleagues from Nord Eclair.

Loïs Petit will return to Belgium in the coming days. She will then go back on the tatamis during the month of August for the Zagreb Grand-Prix.
