The Valencian rider Carlos Tatay (Sag Racing Team) underwent emergency surgery in Faro (Portugal), after suffering a “hard” fall during the fourth Moto2 round of the JuniorGP World Championship, held in Portimao, according to a statement offered by his team. .

“Update on the status of Carlos Tatay, surgery performed successfully. Under observation until the process is evaluated,” his team advanced on their social media profiles.

In this Sunday’s race, Tatay suffered a serious fall at the entrance to turn 1 of the Portuguese track, when the front end of his motorcycle seemed to be blocked. This caused the Valencian driver to lose control and jump into the air, hitting the asphalt directly and sliding to the escape wall at high speed.

The violent incident caused the pilot “serious injuries” that forced the medical services to transfer him to the Faro hospital so that he could be “surgically intervened”, as stated in the statement issued by his team before midnight this Sunday.
