The Top Earners of the 2023/24 NBA Season: Record-breaking Salaries for 18 Players

18 players will collect at least 40 million dollars for the season in the 2023/24 season – more than ever before. Here are the 20 top earners of the 2023/24 season.

As in the previous year, Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors leads the ranking. The 35-year-old is the first player in history to rake in over $50 million for a season. In August 2021, the Warriors Guard prematurely extended it by four years and $215 million until 2026. In 2025/26, Curry will even receive almost $60 million from the franchise.

Joel Embiid and Nikola Jokic signed new contracts in 2022, which will start with the upcoming season and catapult the centers among the absolute top earners. This summer, however, only two new deals were added. Kyrie Irving makes it just inside the top 20 with 38.9 million, while the Houston Rockets’ Fred VanVleet has a maximum three-year contract.

The guard wasn’t even drafted in 2016 and is the first player in NBA history to go undrafted and then sign a contract worth over $100 million.

The top earner among German players in the coming season is Dennis Schröder, who signed with the Toronto Raptors for two years and a total of $25.4 million. Among the playmakers, the player from Braunschweig is in 30th place and 123rd in the league. Maxi Kleber (11 million, Dallas Mavericks) follows in 142nd place, followed by Isaiah Hartenstein (9.2 million, Knicks, 170th place), Daniel Theis (9.1 million, Pacers), Moritz Wagner (7.7 million Magic, No. 192) and finally Franz Wagner (5.5 million, Magic, No. 231), who is still playing on a rookie contract. Berliners can expect a bigger payday in 2025.
