Spain, Greece, Israel, and Lithuania to Compete in Zaragoza Preparation Tournament for Skope European Championship

Spain, Greece, Israel and Lithuania will play a preparation tournament in Zaragoza for the Skope European Championship (August 5-13). Three days of high-level basketball for the generation of 2007 that will debut this summer in official international competition.

The Men’s U16 gathered on July 11 in Zaragoza and after ten days of training in the Siglo XXI Pavilion in the Aragonese capital, they will put into practice on the track what they have worked to date.

This tournament aims to promote Zaragoza in its candidacy for European Capital of Sport for 2026, in which it competes with Naples (Italy) and Tbilisi (Georgia). “We have created this trophy to help position Zaragoza as a city that is friendly to sports and in which sport plays a strategic role, especially basketball,” said the mayoress of Zaragoza, Natalia Chueca.

Xavi Albert, Carles Flores and Ferran Pizcueta will work with 15 players: Guillermo del Pino (Unicaja), Andy Huelves (Zentro Basket), Didac Cebolla (Valencia Basket), Raúl Villar (FC Barcelona), Eric del Castillo (Joventut Badalona), Máximo García-Plata (Movistar Estudiantes), Ignacio Campoy (Real Madrid), Daniel Sancoi Balde (FC Barcelona), Rubén Salazar (Unicaja), Alberto Blanco (Real Betis Basketball), Ian Platteuw (Joventut Badalona), Nicolás Gómez (Valencia Basket) , Gildas Giménez (Real Madrid), Sergi Kemu Monzo (Valencia Basket) and Eric Sanmartín (FC Barcelona).
