(bf). The Judo department of SG Rodheim hosted the Mazda Cup for the seventh time these days. Each young athlete was allowed to compete in up to 30 fights. There are no weight classes and no age limit. The fighters choose their opponents themselves, but should compete against partners from outside the club. Leverage and choking techniques should be avoided.
Throws and grabs are allowed. 67 competitors (from white belt) took part and represented a total of six clubs, including Taikien Rockenberg and Rodheim.
An athlete received three points for each fight fought and five for a fight won. 20 judokas scored 732 points for Rodheim. JC Neuenschmidten secured the challenge cup with a lead of 200 points.
