At the training camp in Mittersill (Austria), coach Thomas Reis (49) is trying to get his squad up and running. On the first two days, he made Simon Terodde (35) and Co. sweat a lot more than ex-coach Frank Kramer (51) did last year. Reis wants to use this to lay the foundations for his intensive style of play.

Schalke is still looking for a fast central defender!
Should the opponent be able to break away from the Schalke pressing, he will of course have space to counterattack. At best, the central defender who is still being sought should therefore bring a lot of speed with him in order to be able to win the threatening running duels.

► Tactically, Schalke will continue to rely primarily on the 4-3-3 system according to BILD information. A dual leadership – as recently with Terodde and Sebastian Polter (32) – is only considered situationally.
