The striker Santi Mina, still pending the appeal of his four-year prison sentence for sexual abuse, rejoins the celestial discipline this morning. The striker is summoned this Wednesday at 10:00 am to start training with the team. After his one-year loan in Arabia, the footballer will be under the command of Rafa Benítez after enjoying a vacation period granted by Celta. Despite the fact that A Sede seeks to find a new outlet for him through another loan, for the moment Mina has rejected the proposals presented.

During his time with Saudi Arabian side Al Shabab, Santi Mina scored seven goals and dished out five assists in 31 games. He now returns to Celta and his departure becomes another of the issues to be resolved by the sports management, since the striker earns one of the highest tokens in the squad and still has a year on his contract.

However, since May 2022, Santi Mina has not played any official match with Celta due to his sentence in the first instance to four years in prison for a crime of sexual abuse committed in Almería when he was still a Valencia player. The sentence is not yet final, since Mina’s defense has appealed the ruling to the Superior Court of Andalusia.
