Sandro Mamukelashvili will continue one more season with the San Antonio Spurs for $2 million, according to a report from ESPN.
The pivot has been claimed in waivers by the Texans in March, after being cut by the Milwaukee Bucks, and his two-way contract was turned into a regular. In 19 games —seven as a starter— he has left interesting numbers by averaging 10.8 points, 6.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists.
At 24 years of age, he will enter his third year in the NBA after being taken by the Indiana Pacers in the 2021 Draft, although two days later he was transferred to Milwaukee. Zach Collins, Charles Bassey and Khem Birch — no deal guaranteed — make up the Spurs’ No. 5 rotation.
