Sami Khedira (36) has been working as an external consultant for VfB since September 2022. Not anymore.
“The year was not easy and it was intense, but I think that we have created very good conditions and prepared structures. I am grateful for the good cooperation and the trust placed in us!” Khedira said in farewell.

Khedira, German champion with VfB in 2007, is being discussed as the new sporting director at the DFB (BILD reported). The future of ex-Bayern star Philipp Lahm (39) as a consultant in Stuttgart is not affected by the Khedira exit. By the end of the year, VfB also wants to bring in a new sports director.
