Rimini Requests Recognition for Homegrown European Karate Champion

In recent days we have sent an official request to the councilor MARESI so that the presence of a EUROPEAN CHAMPION in karate in Rimini is made known. I would say a unique event in Rimini sport and an honor for the city of Rimini. A boy from Rimini who is currently training in Riccione but who from October will bring his sporting skills to a gym in Rimini.
The note on the young champion:
“Cunti Manuel, born in Rimini in 1986, began practicing karate at the age of 5 in the Polisportiva-Celle gym in Rimini.
Passion for martial arts that from an early age led him to compete in various Italian cities, conquering several podiums.
Competitive athlete of the Italian national master FIJLKAM (Italian Judo Fight Karate and Martial Arts Federation) the only federation in the sector recognized by CONI and the WKF in Italy (Word Karate Federation) or the Olympic Karate.
The last federal competitions in which he participated were:
On November 5, 2022 in Venice at the Italian karate master championship, winning the bronze medal in the combat competition;
On March 18, 2023 in Ostia at the Pala Fijlkam Olympic Center, at the Italian championship of regional representatives, despite being the only Master athlete in Emilia Romagna Representation, he again obtained a prestigious bronze.
On July 2, 2023 in Finland in the city of Tampere the European master games were held in which the best karate athletes from different countries participated. The thirty-seven-year-old Rimini athlete who is a specialist in Kumite (fighting) belonging to the Riccione Karate Center (a company that will also open an office in the Municipality of Rimini starting from October 2023) after a long athletic and technical preparation, representing the Italian national masters team, in the free combat competition, he conquered the highest step of the podium by winning the gold medal and thus acquiring the title of European champion.
I think it’s an honor to have a European champion who should be worthily celebrated by Palazzo Garampi with the right and proper tribute. More than the sporting title which is undoubtedly important, it is essential to highlight the fact that a young person with constancy and passion does not give up sport for other pastimes (closed at home) fueling the desire for sport and socializing.
For the above, I ask for your intervention by keeping me updated.”

Best regards.
