record bonuses for Les Bleues and Hervé Renard

The bonuses paid to the players of the France team during the World Cup will be far superior to anything they have experienced so far.

If French women’s football is struggling, it is a little less the case internationally, especially when it comes to the World Cup. This Wednesday, on the eve of the start of the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, The Team reveals the amounts of the bonuses that the players will receive, including those of the France team, according to their career.

The twenty-three Bleues are guaranteed to receive 26,700 euros, even in the event of elimination (unlikely) from the group stage. In the event of a coronation, they will each receive 240,220 euros. Note that FIFA is responsible for paying these bonuses directly, and not the French Football Federation. The total addition for the players will therefore be between 614,000 and 5.2 M€.

More money than the Euro, no matter what

These figures should make Wendie Renard and her teammates smile, because the ceiling of previous competitions is largely exceeded. During Euro 2022, each winner was promised 24,000 euros. Even in the event of a fiasco at the World Cup, the Bleues will therefore receive more. The amounts remain very far from those of the boys: the finalists of the World Cup in Qatar each received 490,000 euros, for a total of 11.270 M€ without taking into account the staff of Didier Deschamps.

And precisely, a colossal bonus would await Hervé Renard, at least if the Blue ones go to the end. The Team speaks of a check for around 600,000 euros in the event of a final victory at the 2023 World Cup or the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. As a reminder, the 54-year-old coach, appointed last March, had divided his salary by ten in leaving the Saudi Arabia men’s team for France. He receives nearly 400,000 euros gross per year.
