Quartiers d’été in Nogent-le-Rotrou: Cancellations, Rescheduling, and Strong Attendance

The last meeting in the Quartiers d’été series was scheduled yesterday at the Théâtre de Verdure. While standing at the Simone-Signoret room, he ultimately did not conclude, as planned, this season of summer entertainment offered by the municipal library, the Ludo’Perche toy library and the Social Living Space. An appointment was rescheduled for Tuesday in the Gauchetières district.

Nogent-le-Rotrou: the badminton club joins the Summer Quarters for six meetings

Like last year, the weather came to put a bit of a mess in the well-established organization of the Summer Quarters. In 2022, an episode of heat wave forced the organizers to postpone one of the six scheduled events for a week.

In view of the color of the sky in the last fortnight of July, everyone will have understood that it was not a heat wave that motivated this postponement this time.

Cancellation and postponement

Co-responsible for the Ludo’Perche toy library, Myriam Chauveau explains:

“We were forced this week to cancel our Thursday meeting at the castle of the Counts of Perche due to bad weather. For Tuesday’s meeting which was scheduled at Gauchetières, we had to give up for the same reasons but we were able to do so. reschedule until Tuesday, August 1.”

With the added alternative that day of being able to retreat to the Shared House on rue du Tertre if the weather was not yet on the side.

The summer quarters create entertainment and social ties in Nogent-le-Rotrou

Fingers crossed while waiting for the three municipal and associative structures to be able to unpack their books and games on the lawns at the foot of the buildings in the Gauchetières district the day after tomorrow. Even if the forecasts of the ladies and gentlemen of the weather are not very encouraging for the time being.

At the Simone-Signoret room, the strategic retreat of the activities to the shelter of the clouds which remained threatening did not alter the enthusiasm of the animators, librarians and toy librarians who welcome families with volunteers and lead the different play and reading areas dedicated to them.

A suitable proposal

For Julie, one of the managers of the toy library:

“We have also adopted our game proposal to the circumstances by bringing games like this one which requires that we be placed on a table that is plumb and stable.”

Other board games were offered although they are not necessarily the most popular when the space lends itself to other adventures with giant games, for example outdoors.

The summer quarters of the library, the toy library and the social living space are back in service in Nogent-le-Rotrou

Visitors who quickly found their way back to the Summer Quarters were not further disturbed and they even discovered games that are therefore not usually set up outdoors. The ping-pong table thus brought together the children and their parents, in both singles and doubles.

Attendance as strong as last year

Some of these visitors have in any case promised to return on Tuesday for the last animation of these Summer Quarters. A final reunion for new fun with friends or neighbours.

As for the organizers, we have already started to take stock of this new season of the Quartiers d’été: an average of one hundred participants have been welcomed during the meetings that have been held so far. This places this 2023 edition in the high fringe of attendances recorded in recent years.

Convenient. Next meeting of the Quartiers d’été on Tuesday August 1st from 4 to 7 p.m. on the Gauchetières playground (next to the city-stadium). In case of rain, the animation will be transferred to the Shared House, 35 rue du Tertre.
