Bills, Cowboys and 49ers must take the next step, not just make the playoffs, but win the next Super Bowl

In the NFL there are teams that need to make that leap in quality this season that will consolidate or establish them as the best in the league. Either because of the good performance they have performed in recent years or because of the pressure of their loyal fans, who yearn to see their team lift the Vince Lombardi Trophy.

That is why today we are going to talk about three institutions that I think must, yes or yes, take that big step towards glory, it is no longer enough just to reach the playoffs or even the Super Bowl, they have to win it as soon as possible, for the good of the team or because they already deserve it.

The Bills are that team that must make the leap in quality and win the Super Bowl for their fans and for the great performance they have had in recent years, since they have never won the Vince Lombardi despite the fact that in recent seasons they have seen dominant in the AFC East.

Sean McDermott has built a solid team around Josh Allen, who has proven to be one of the best quarterbacks in the league; however, they have not managed to reach the big game despite giving us great games in the playoffs such as against the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2021 season, a game they lost in overtime 36-42.

And speaking of Josh Allen, he is the fundamental piece of this team, his numbers support him and it is enough to see that in 2022 he was the passer with the second most touchdown passes along with Joe Burrow and only below Patrick Mahomes, while in in 2020 he was among the top five quarterbacks with the most touchdown passes and passing yards.

Both for their fans and for showing that they really are a great contender, they have to finally reach the last game and win it, I think they deserve it, but they must maintain the positive momentum in the regular season and postseason.

The Cowboys are a team that has suffered too many ups and downs over the years, but it has an owner and a fan base that craves, desires and urges them to win the Vince Lombardi, something they haven’t gotten since the 1995 season.

Currently they have bet all their chips on Dak Prescott at the controls as the guide to win the championship, in addition to having sheltered him with great players like CeeDee Lamb, Michael Gallup, Tony Pollard, among others.

They have had strong performances over the past two seasons, amassing 12-5 records in both 2021 and 2022, but have come up short in the playoffs, first by losing 23-17 in the Wild Card Round of the 2021 campaign and then in the Divisional Round, 12-19, both times against the Niners.

Although of the teams that I mention in this column, the Cowboys are the one with the least favorable comments, they have a lot of pressure on them and they urgently need to win the Vince Lombardi.

Kyle Shanahan and company have managed to put together a great team, which has suffered many ups and downs, but they have also proven to be highly competitive, however, they have not achieved the much-awaited trophy despite the fact that they were very close to achieving it in 2019 when they arrived. to Super Bowl LIV, which they lost 20-31 against the Chiefs.

In the last two seasons they have managed to advance to the playoffs and fight for the National Conference title, but they lost both times against the Philadelphia Eagles and Los Angeles Rams.

Even in the 2022 season they established themselves as the best defense in the league, finishing with the fewest yards (300.6) and points (16.3) allowed per game. In addition, they have known how to build their team with good decisions both in the draft and in free agency, acquiring players like Christian McCaffrey, Brock Purdy, Brandon Aiyuk, Talanoa Hufanga, among others.

So in the 2023 season they must establish themselves as one of the serious contenders to reach and win the Super Bowl and thus end a 28-year drought.
