Sergio Pérez, Max Verstappen’s teammate at Red Bull Racing, has had a dramatic start to the Hungarian Grand Prix. The Mexican crashed after just two minutes in the first free practice. The damage to the front of his car is extensive.
The Mexican driver started the season reasonably well and hoped to make a serious shot at the world title. In recent weeks, however, he has been hopelessly out of shape. Especially in the qualifications he was very disappointing in the last grands prix.
In Hungary, things went wrong in the first practice session. Pérez made a steering error, slithered across the grass and ended up hard in the wall. The session has since resumed, without Pérez.
