Peter Bosz denies that he has applied to Ajax in recent months. The new PSV trainer has long been linked to a return to the club from Amsterdam.
The clubless Bosz joined talk shows a few times in the past period and said that Ajax could call him if interested. According to the 59-year-old Apeldoorner, not too much should be sought after.
“I have not applied at all. Those are nonsense stories. But I hear them often. I am very happy to be here,” said Bosz on Tuesday in the Philips Stadium at his presentation as PSV coach.
“From the first moment I felt the warmth at PSV and felt how much they wanted me. I still have that feeling. I don’t think it’s proper to talk about Ajax any further.”
Bosz was a trainer of Ajax in the 2016/2017 season. He did not win any prizes at the time, but he did lead the record champion to the Europa League final with good football. That was lost to Manchester United.

‘I really wanted to stay in the Netherlands’
The former coach of Borussia Dortmund, Bayer Leverkusen and Olympique Lyonnais, among others, did not prefer a new foreign adventure. “My wife and I really wanted to stay in the Netherlands. Our children and grandchildren are growing up, so it’s nice to be closer to home.”
Bosz wants to play offensive football with PSV, just like with Ajax. “Winning alone is not enough. I also attach great importance to the way that happens. Let’s see how we can unite that.”
Bosz’s contract with PSV runs until mid-2026. The season officially starts for cup winner PSV on August 4, when national champion Feyenoord is the opponent in the battle for the Johan Cruijff Scale.
