New Football Rules Implemented by the International Football Association Board (IFAB)

Rules put into effect by the International Football Association Board (IFAB)

As has been reported for some time, the International Football Association Board (IFAB) put into effect some new rules this July, which will bring several changes to football.

Well, there are seven changes applied, according to UOL Esporte:

– The goalkeepers must stay on top of the goal line in penalties, face to face with whoever is going to take the penalty, without acting in a way that distracts or distracts the opponent, also not being allowed to touch the irons or the nets;

– Time wasted during goal celebrations will be considered by the referees when deciding the stoppage time;

– If the referee is unable to identify any member of the technical team or player on the substitute bench who has committed an infraction, the card must be shown to the head coach;

– If a player or member of the technical team of the team that scores a goal is on the field and interferes directly in the play, the goal must be annulled and the match resumed with a foul in the place where that element was. If there is no interference in the bid, the goal will be validated. If that “invasion” is by a player or member of the technical team of the team that conceded the goal, it will also be validated;

– Any attacker who is offside and receives a ball from an opponent who had “total control” of it, will be “in play”. The only case in which this will not apply is when a goalkeeper saves an opponent’s shot and the ball lands on an offside player. In this case, the bid must be canceled. If the referee considers that the defender who touched the ball did not have full control of it when he ended up assisting the opponent, the offside must also be called;

– The referee should only send off a player who has committed a penalty if he has not tried to dispute the ball at any time;

– The reserve assistant referee may participate in communications between the members of the refereeing team. Previously, the rule provided that only the referee, assistants, fourth official and additional assistant referees could do so.
