NBA: LeBron James reassures on the state of health of his son after his cardiac arrest

The news is better, coming from Los Angeles. LeBron James said Thursday that his family was “united and healthy” three days after his eldest son suffered cardiac arrest while practicing with his college basketball team.

” Everyone is doing well. Our family is reunited and healthy, and we feel your love. We’ll have more to say when we’re ready, but I wanted to let everyone know how much your support means to all of us! said James on social media.

“I want to thank the countless people who send my family love and prayers. (…) We appreciate your support and I am very grateful to you, ”wrote James in his first message since his son Bronny, 18, collapsed on the parquet floor while training with the University of Southern California on Monday in Los Angeles.

On Tuesday, the family announced that Bronny James had been treated by medical staff on site, hospitalized and transferred to the intensive care unit in “stable” condition.

No details had filtered since, the photographers posted in front of the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles having simply claimed to have seen the superstar enter the hospital establishment.

Celebrity news site TMZ.com reported that Bronny was unconscious before being rushed to hospital following the cardiac arrest.

According to the American Heart Association, only one in ten people survive an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest, when the heart stops suddenly, with little or no warning.

James’ cardiac arrest came just over a year after fellow USC basketball player Vince Iwuchukwu suffered heart failure and collapsed during practice . Iwuchukwu then made a full recovery.

Bronny James, who has become one of America’s top high school basketball prospects, signed up to play for the University of Southern California Trojans last May.

His famous 38-year-old father, leading scorer in NBA history, four-time champion and four-time best player, has repeatedly expressed the wish to extend his career in order to play in the league with his son, who was expected to the Draft 2024.
