It’s finish. AS Poissy (ASP) is wiped off the map of the national championships. This Tuesday afternoon, the appeal committee of the National Management Control Department (DNCG) of the Federation confirmed the decision of the financial policeman of May 23 to exclude the ASP because of a debt bordering the 280,000 euros. It is a cataclysm for this historic club from Île-de-France, which has not attended the regional level since 1970, that is to say more than fifty years.
AS Poissy should therefore start again next year in Regional 1 (6th national level) or in Regional 2, the level occupied by its reserve team this season (5th in pool D). The League of Paris-Île-de-France should decide in the coming days. This exclusion from the ASP comes at a time when the city of Yvelines will welcome PSG to its new training center in the coming days. A situation that will inevitably damage the image of the municipality.
“There was never any embezzlement”
For this last chance meeting, the president of AS Poissy, Olivier Szewczuk, was accompanied on Tuesday by a lawyer, his accountant and a representative of the company ready to inject 220,000 euros into club coffers. The President had a certified check for this amount in escrow. But that was not enough to convince the appeal commission and its 12 members. An incomprehensible decision for the president of the ASP: “I am devastated. I showed guarantees with this certified check for 220,000 euros in escrow with a law firm established on June 30, plus 80,000 euros for accounting reserve. The check would have been released within forty-eight hours and there would be no more deficit… This sponsor was still not going to inject such a sum without having the assurance that the pennant team remained in N2. »
Weakened, Olivier Szewczuk continues: “I worked day and night. I had the check, I can’t do better. I fought tooth and nail to find a sponsor. The federation abandons its customers. I am landed. There was never any embezzlement, just partners not honoring their promises. I had reinjected 10,000 euros from my personal funds to pay the educators for the month of June. It’s hard to be alone. Nobody calls me. »
The club is now at risk of insolvency. “The Versailles commercial court must call me,” says the president of the ASP. I am very affected, I have the feeling of being left behind… I am going to give myself twenty-four hours of reflection to seize the CNOSF (French National Olympic and Sports Committee) or the CAS (Tribunal of Arbitration for Sport) .
