A total of ten people were arrested before and after the FC Twente-Hammarby IF football match on Thursday. According to the police, the arrests were made for, among other things, public violence, assault and insult to an official in office.
One of those arrested is a minor and will be released in the course of the night from Thursday to Friday.
Around 1:45 a.m., peace had returned in and around the stadium, a police spokesman said.
Immediately after the game between Twente and the Swedish Hammarby, in the second preliminary round of the Conference League, supporters of the two clubs clashed in the stands. According to the police, there were serious blows.

A music festival in the city center was shut down around 11:30 p.m. on Thursday due to the unrest around the stadium, and the catering industry in the center had to close at midnight. According to the police, it remained calm there and no action was needed.
Enschede had declared the city of Twente a security risk area on Thursday afternoon and an emergency order was in force in the city center of nearby Hengelo. Those measures were taken out of “serious fears of public order disturbance due to the presence of weapons” around the match.
FC Twente won 1-0 against Hammarby. Next week is the return match in Stockholm.
