Mixed start for Victor Wembanyama with the Spurs in the Summer League

Victor Wembanyama made a contrasting copy for his first in the Spurs jersey, despite his team’s victory against Charlotte (76-68) Friday night in Las Vegas. The tricolor prodigy, first choice of the last draft, scored 9 points and took 8 rebounds in 27 minutes.

With only 2/13 shooting (1/6 from three points), he did not find the target. On the other hand, he was more to his advantage in defense, inflicting five blocks and dissuading opponents from going to the circle.

The former Boulogne-Levallois Mets player – whose preparation was marked on Wednesday by the altercation of one of his bodyguards with Britney Spears – missed his three initial attempts. And, if he blew up the room when he scored his first basket, he was also dunked on by opposing pivot Kai Jones (7 pts).

Henderson uncertain on Sunday against Wembanyama

In the camp opposite, Brandon Miller, drafted just after “Wemby”, also experienced shooting difficulties (5/15), despite a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds.

Victor Wembanyama should follow up with another clash against a future star of the League, Scoot Henderson. Sunday, the Spurs will indeed play against Portland, the team of number 3 of the last draft … released touched on the shoulder Friday and uncertain for the rest of the competition.
