Man City Are Also Targeting Hakimi To Replace Walker

Jakarta

Manchester City are looking for a replacement for Kyle Walker, who is rumored to be joining Bayern Munich soon. One of the players on the target list is Paris Saint-Germain defender, Achraf Hakimi.

As reported by Football Insider, the Moroccan player is liked by manager Pep Guardiola and the Man City recruitment team. His age of only 24 years can also make him a long-term asset for The Citizens.

Hakimi is also interested in moving to Manchester. However, it is believed that PSG will ask for a high fee, because he is still the first choice and his contract in Paris still has three years left.

Apart from Hakimi, there is Benjamin Pavard who is rumored to be moving to Man City to replace Walker. In terms of price, the French defender is considered cheaper, because his contract at Bayern has one more year left.

Negotiations to recruit him were also easier because it could be done simultaneously with Walker’s transfer. It is believed that Hakimi will only be hunted if Man City fails to reach an agreement with Bayern to release Pavard.

Walker was previously reported to be close to Bayern to start a new adventure. His contract at Man City only has a year left, and he wasn’t always the first choice last season.

The Citizens initially wanted to offer a new contract, but recently the 33-year-old defender prefers to move. Bayern is said to be redeeming it for 15 million Pounds.
