Leonard Miller Signs Four-Year Contract with Minnesota Timberwolves in the NBA

Leonard Miller already has his first contract in the NBA. The one who was elected in position number 33 of the last draft has reached an agreement with the Minnesota Timberwolves, according to the journalist from Hoopshype Michael Scotto, who also affirms that said contract is for a duration of four years and for a salary of 8.3 million dollars.

However, only the first two seasons of it are insured. The third is picked up as partially guaranteed and will become fully guaranteed if the player is not fired before June 30, 2025, while the 26-27 season is picked up as a team option. In this way, Miller has confirmed the income of 4.8 million dollars, and will have to earn the rest on the track.

Leonard comes from playing in the G League’s Ignite, where he has averaged 16.9 points and 10.1 rebounds per game. At 19 years old, he occupies the position of power forward with a height of 2.08, and the analyzes prior to draft night highlighted his rapid evolution throughout the year in defensive and rebounding tasks. At the start of the season, the focus was on his agility and ball handling, promising for his height, but he was considered a player who was still too green, a perception that changed with this development and helped him earn a place at the start of the second round.

In fact, as the ceremony approached, the possibility of being selected in the first round was even being considered, but this was not the case in the end. However, seeing that the opportunity opened up, Minnesota opted to reach an agreement with San Antonio to take the pick 33, sending the Texans two future second rounds and thus taking their services.

Miller has already played two Summer League games, in which he has averaged 18 points, 8 rebounds (3 attacking) and 2.5 steals per game. This contract gives him time to build himself up in the Timberwolves and try to get the potential that is perceived in him, in which the Minneapolis franchise seems to have trusted.
