Latvian Women’s and Men’s Basketball Teams Compete in European Tournament and Show Mixed Results

The Latvian women’s national team, which consisted of Marta Daniela Leimane, Katrīna Elīza Trankale, Ieva Elizabete Korzāne and Endija Sedliņa, lost the first game with 15:16 to the French basketball players who won the first two tournaments, but then beat Romania with 19:11.

Latvia took fourth place in the stage overall, just like on Friday in the first stage, but on Saturday the Latvians were second.

In the men’s competition, Mārtiņš Evarts Zviedris, Dāvis Skreivers, Rihards Ozoliņš and Rinalds Timma first defeated Slovakia with 21:10, but then lost to France with 12:21.

At the end of the stage, the Latvians took third place, but in the previous two stages, the Latvian team had two fifth positions.

From July 21 to 23, these same teams will play three tournaments in Bucharest.

Coaches Dāvis Feikners and Valdis Razumovskis also went to France with the teams.
