Insights and Tips from Experts at the National Judo Stage

On the first day of celebration of this national Judo event, three great presentations took place. On Saturday morning the physiotherapist Jose Maria Bello offered two of them, one on “The importance of rest” and another about “effective own work and flexibility”aimed at judo” and the third was given by Jose Miguel Urrea who talked about neurotatami where neuroeducation that can transform the way of teaching and the importance that judo teachers must know, know, discover and experience how the brain of their students works in reference to what they think and feel became relevant.

This Sunday, Mairena Sánchez For his part, he gave the presentation entitled “Motor competence in childhood”, What should teachers and coaches know? where reference was made to the ability to effectively perform basic/fundamental movements that involve the combination of movement patterns of two or more body segments.

The physiotherapist, José María Belló, based his presentations on two topics of significant interest, such as the importance of working on proprioception and flexibility in judo, both for improving coordination and sports performance and for preventing injuries.

According to Belló, proprioception “is an interoceptive sense that constantly sends information to the brain about the position and movement to be carried out, but that can be altered after an injury that modifies the pattern of mobility, which is why its re-education is necessary”.

In this presentation, two practices were proposed with cases that usually occur in judo to try to improve proprioception by working and in the flexibility part, the different types of stretching were discussed, their adaptations depending on whether it is before, during or after the competition and to end the talk, two examples of global stretching by muscle chains were explained.

In the second talk, they talked about the importance of rest and sleep quality, a problem that affects half of the population, and that can improve the athlete’s performance. The different phases of sleep, different problems, devices and study methods, solutions such as sleep hygiene, nutrition, light therapy and different tricks to improve sleep quality were analyzed.

In short, this first National Judo Stage has brought together prominent professionals who have provided valuable and juicy information applied to this great sport.
