The Italian Sports Center (Csi) and Us Acli play the “Net. Beyond the networks”, the project – financed by Sport e Salute Spa and by the Department of Sport of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers – which draws its inspiration from racket sports, such as tennis, padel, table tennis, badminton and pickleball. The challenge launched by the two bodies against bullying and cyberbullying is also double, eager to propose together an awareness-raising activity on the sad social phenomenon, as well as to put a stop to youth dropout, i.e. the early abandonment of sporting practice.
Between one set and another, this year, in addition to the various smashes scored by the young teenagers (boys between 10 and 13 years old) to whom the project is aimed, a completely exceptional “game” was played with some “Takers !”.
In collaboration with Giffoni Experience, the CSI has in fact created a video contest which has seen young sportsmen and women question themselves on the delicate issue of bullying in sport. Recipes in pills on the values of sport have emerged, created through stories and video interviews. There are 15 companies of the two entities that have proposed various clips to the Giffoni Experience Jury.
On the occasion of the 53rd edition of the Giffoni Film Festival, the film festival – scheduled from 20 to 29 July in Giffoni Valle Piana – which promotes cinema for children, the names of the two winning companies were announced by the jury. For the colors of the Csi, the special mention went to the Teramo For Tennis Team Asd, while for Us Acli the Bonacossa Milano sports center won.
The general manager of Giffoni, Jacopo Gubitosi, was very satisfied with the production received, who declared: “The video contest refers to issues that we very often address and deepen. Giffoni is active with many projects dedicated to contrasting bullying and cyberbullying and to digital security in general. Sport is a world to which we are very close because we share the values of solidarity and cohesion that have always represented the heritage that we have been delivering to our kids, to the new generations, for 53 years. This project brings these two aspects together and does so through the audiovisual language, a language that has made Giffoni an international reference in the field of children’s cinema”.
Meanwhile, the two winning realities will be from 15 to 17 September 2023 among the 30 teams participating in the Net Masters of Perugia, the final event of the “Net. Beyond the networks”, which will see rackets of different sizes and weights used on padel, badminton, table tennis, pickleball and tennis courts. This will be the framework for delivering the award plates for the clips made to the new sports giffoners.
